In August, the Clinton Center will host its second annual “Head of the Class Bash” and Free Admission Day in honor of President Clinton’s 66th birthday. Celebrating the close of a wonderful summer and the beginning of a new academic year, the Center’s “Bash” will provide school-supply stuffed backpacks from 3M to the first 1,200 students. The Center’s current temporary exhibit, “Play Ball! The St. Louis Cardinals,” adds an exciting new item.

VIDEO Global Health Story: Increasing Access to Medicines

This week is the 19th International AIDS Conference. Since 2002 the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) has been working to address the HIV/AIDS crisis in the developing world by increasing access to medicines.
We've collaborated with... governments to expand access of treatments and negotiate prices with drug manufactures to lower the cost and increase production. Today, more than 4 million people are benefitting from CHAI's price-negotiated treatments.

Former President Bill Clinton and former Vice President Walter Mondale will help dedicate a memorial to Hubert H. Humphrey on Aug. 4 outside the Minnesota State Capitol.
The program, which is free and open to the public, will begin at 4:30 p.m.

Walden project to honor Bill Clinton for environmental leadership

President Clinton will be presented with an award Wednesday from the Walden Woods Project meant to recognize leaders working on environmental issues across the globe. On Wednesday, Anderson’s organization plans to present Clinton with a 1-foot, 11-pound bronze sculpture of an older man’s hand passing a globe to two younger hands, evoking the passing of the earth to the next generation, Anderson said.

More than 20,000 people are attending the 19th International AIDS Conference in Washington this week.
The meeting features speeches from U.S. Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, former first lady Laura Bush, health ministers from many countries around the world, Bill Gates, NIH scientists Anthony Fauci and Francis Collins and hundreds more.

Clinton, Bush in Boston this week for business travel conference

Uganda: Bill Clinton Visits School in Wakiso

Former US President Bill Clinton on Friday toured a school funded under his initiative through the US non-governmental organization (NGO) called Building Tomorrow.
The Building Tomorrow Academy Gita, one of the academies established by the organization to provide education to underserved rural areas of Uganda.

The NGO is partnering with the Clinton Foundation and has since 2006 built 14 primary schools in rural areas of Lwengo, Mpigi, Lyantonde, Mukono, Kiboga, Wakiso, Luwero and Lamwo districts, and is aiming at building a total of 60 schools by 2016.

Rwanda: Bill Clinton to Visit This Week

Former United States President, Bill Clinton, is scheduled to arrive in Rwanda on Wednesday for the launch of Butaro Cancer Centre. The Centre is part of Rwanda's five-year national plan to introduce cancer prevention, screening.
"...he will attend the opening of the Butaro Cancer Centre of Excellence with Paul Farmer and Jeff Gordon. The centre was created through a Clinton Global Initiative commitment by the Jeff Gordon Children's Foundation and Partners in Health," reads the statement.

The City Year charity was launched by former South African President Nelson Mandela and Clinton in 2005. It provided after-school care for 23,000 children since then.
