Event at Clinton Presidential Center
Back by popular demand! The Clinton Center welcomes back Brick Artist Nathan Sawaya with Photographer Dean West. You and a guest are invited to attend this kid-friendly event as Nathan and Dean will lead a discussion about their unique collaboration and how art provides an effective platform for education, inspiration and meaningful dialogue.
"In Pieces" partners seven large-scale, highly stylized photographic images with uniquely constructed three-dimensional LEGO® brick sculptures. This collection draws the viewer into the tableau while literally surrounding them with the physicality of the art. As the viewer gets closer to West's photographs, the brick-by-brick fabricated construction becomes more apparent. Brick artist Sawaya isolates one element featured in the photograph and creates a detailed sculpture of that single point of inspiration. The result is a unique look at the balance of nature and technology.
After the program, guests are invited and encouraged to tour the exhibit. Sawaya will be signing copies of his book, "The Art of Nathan Sawaya," which is available for purchase at the Clinton Museum Store.
