June events at the Clinton Presidential Center
The
Clinton Center's newest temporary exhibit, "Oscar de la Renta: American
Icon," tells the story of the designer’s life, career, and impact on
the fashion world through his original designs and will feature more
than 30 of his iconic creations. In December 1998, then-First Lady
Hillary Rodham Clinton graced the cover of Vogue, the first time in
history the magazine featured a sitting First Lady on its cover. “Oscar
de la Renta is the ultimate statesman of American fashion," she said in
her interview. "His name alone evokes shimmering elegance and timeless
beauty that has helped define global style for generations. He is a
true American original.” Also in June, the Center opens a very special
temporary exhibit honoring the Father of our Country, "A Tribute to
George Washington." This exhibit will include original historical
documents and a priceless portrait of the first president of the United
States. Super Summer Saturdays offer free activities for the entire
family. All this and more! Click here for a complete listing of events.
