News: Clinton Foundation Marks Earth Day at East Harlem Garden
In observance of Earth Day on April 22, 46 staff members and interns of the Clinton Foundation planted perennials and shrubs at an East Harlem garden at 103rd Street and Madison Avenue. With shovels, spades, hoes, and team spirit, the volunteers put on gloves, broke up the soil, and then planted rose bushes, pansies, geraniums, primroses, begonias, and irises in front of the Casita Maria Senior Center located at the George Washington Carver Houses. The Foundation teamed up with the Council on the Environment of New York City for the project, and the flowers and shrubs for the garden were bought from a donation by President Bill Clinton
