Trey Thompkins, the 2011 L.A. Clippers’ draft pick, helped The Alliance for a Healthier Generation honor Palmetto Elementary School for earning a Silver National Recognition award. Palmetto Elementary was one of only 275 schools nationwide to earn the honor. The school has transformed its health and wellness culture by having students start their days with physical activity breaks and teachers incorporating quick fitness exercises into lesson plans.
