Clinton Climate Initiative gets results

In May 2007 the Clinton Climate Initiative launched its building retrofit program, a major undertaking to reduce energy consumption in existing buildings. The most iconic of these projects was overhauling the 80-year-old Empire State Building to exceed 21st century green energy standards. As of today, the Empire State Building is the tallest building in the world to achieve LEED® Gold certification for existing buildings.- President Clinton
