One innovation we've helped to implement was to change the package for malaria medication so anyone will know how to use it, regardless of language or literacy. Projects like this have helped countries move toward completely eliminating local cases of malaria.

Free tickets available for Monday speech by Bill Clinton at Rupp Arena

Free tickets are available to attend former President Bill Cinton's address Monday to the Bluegrass Youth Sustainability Council Earth Day Celebration at Rupp Arena.

Clinton was originally scheduled to speak to about 6,000 students, parents, teachers and community leaders from noon to 1 p.m. at the Alltech arena at the Kentucky Horse Park, but the event has since been moved to Rupp Arena.

The FEED Foundation and Clarins will present the first Clarins Million Meals Concert for FEED, celebrating FEED's fifth anniversary, May 30 at Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center.

The concert, set to begin at 8 PM, will benefit the FEED Foundation with a goal to raise enough money in one evening to provide one million school meals through FEED. Former President Bill Clinton will make a special appearance.

Bill Clinton lauds scholarship program for seniors

Former U.S. President William J. Clinton told the 2012 seniors of El Dorado High School that their freedom to choose the path of higher education is “key to America’s economic recovery.”

Clinton spoke to students and their families Tuesday at Wildcat Arena in El Dorado, Ark., on the occasion of Academic Signing Day for this year’s recipients of the El Dorado Promise scholarship. Announced in 2007, the $50 million scholarship program is funded by the Murphy Oil Corporation and provides qualifying EHS students with up to 100 percent of tuition and mandatory college fees.

Holder, Jr., who will discuss the work of the Department of Justice in combating human trafficking and assisting its victims. On February 3, 2009, Holder became the 82nd Attorney General of the United States. In 1997, Mr. Holder was named by President Clinton to be the Deputy Attorney General, the first African-American named to that post. In 1988, Mr. Holder was nominated by President Reagan to become an Associate Judge of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.
The Kumpuris Lecture Series was established by Katherine Ann Kumpuris Trotter, Dr. Drew Kumpuris and Dr. Dean Kumpuris in honor of their mother, Kula Kumpuris, and in memory of their father, Dr. Frank Kumpuris. The series is sponsored by the Clinton Foundation, the Clinton School and AT&T.

Former President Bill Clinton is scheduled to attend an event honoring former Sen. Dale Bumpers and his wife, Betty, at the University of Arkansas later this month.
School officials confirmed Tuesday that the April 15 gathering will be an invitation-only event hosted by the Dale Bumpers College of Agriculture, Food and Life Sciences.

University spokeswoman Rana McDonald said no tickets will be required for Clinton’s speech, scheduled at 8 p.m. April 24 at First United Bank Center on the WT campus. She said the university has not decided how it will handle an expected attendance overflow. The center has a seating capacity of roughly 6,000 if chairs are added to the floor, she said. Tickets will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis, a school official said Wednesday.
