A special thanks from Bill Clinton

I was so touched by all the birthday messages I received last week – and I just wanted to say thank you.

More than 35,000 people made my birthday special by sending in messages of support for the Clinton Foundation's work – work that truly wouldn't be possible without people like you. From connecting Malawian farmers with essential tools and resources to helping U.S. communities live healthier, I know I have you to thank for improving the lives of so many people around the world.

After 67 years, I've learned that by working together, we can do more than any one of us could do on our own. It's the best birthday gift to know that you share our commitment to building a better world, and that I can count on you to help us improve even more lives in the months and years to come.

Thank you again for everything you do.

Sincerely,

Bill Clinton

Bill Clinton: 'We're in this together'

Most of us who are old enough remember exactly where we were on Aug. 28, 1963. I watched the March on Washington unfold on national television from a reclining chair in the den of my house in Hot Springs, Ark.

Ben Affleck solicits donations for Bill Clinton

President Clinton and I built our careers in very different fields, but as fathers and humanitarians, we share a core belief: that the work we do each day should make the world a little better.
So, I hope you'll join me in sending a message of thanks and support to celebrate the birthday of a great humanitarian, leader, and friend, President Bill Clinton.

A new CDC report shows that childhood obesity rates are falling in many states.

This is a significant achievement that reflects the hard work and commitment of organizations like the First Lady's Let's Move initiative and The Alliance for a Healthier Generation, which are working at the national level to fight childhood obesity.

Founded in 2005 by the Clinton Foundation and the American Heart Association, today the Alliance is helping 18,000 schools in all 50 states make healthy changes and working with the food and beverage industries to increase access to healthier options in schools. I'm proud to be part of this effort and look forward to continuing our work to help kids live long, healthy lives. - BC

Bill and Hillary Clinton on the Passing of Bill Lynch

Former President Bill Clinton and Former Secretary Of State Hillary Clinton: “Bill Lynch had a heart even bigger than the city he served. Whether he was fighting for working families at AFSCME or running political campaigns or working in City Hall, Bill always put people first. He was a friend to both of us over many years. We admired his integrity and his generosity, including his support for scores of community and philanthropic organizations. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Mary and their family. New York has lost a champion and they have lost a loving husband and a devoted father.”http://still4hill.com/2013/08/10/bill-and-hillary-clinton-on-the-passing-of-bill-lynch/

August events at the Clinton Presidential Center

In August, the Clinton Center celebrates President Clinton's 67th birthday with a free admission day and the annual Head of the Class Bash where the first 1,500 students will receive backpacks filled with school supplies. And all guests can participate in the fun and festivities as we prepare for a new school year. Additionally, the Center debuts its newest temporary exhibit, "And Freedom for All: The March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom," on August 10. This timely and compelling exhibit commemorates the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington where Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., delivered his visionary "I Have a Dream," speech. And "Oscar de la Renta: American Icon," is the first retrospective of de la Renta’s 50-year career and showcases more than 30 of his original designs. All this and more! Click here for a complete listing of events.
