CGSGI Celebrates Two-Year Anniversary
Today, the Clinton Giustra Sustainable Growth Initiative (CGSGI) marks its two-year anniversary with two major announcements. In Colombia, CGSGI announces the completion of an innovative project to deliver basic health care to 55,000 people who otherwise lack access to medicine and treatment. In Peru, CGSGI announces the commencement of a social and economic development project: a four-year effort to restore vision and productivity among Peruvians through the delivery of 50,000 cataract surgeries. These announcements build on CGSGI’s efforts over 24 months to implement the vision of President Bill Clinton and Frank Giustra to work with local governments, the private sector, communities, and other NGOs to increase incomes, create jobs, and reduce barriers to productivity in the developing world in ways that can be locally sustained.

From Chelsea:For the dads in your life
Dear Amy
Throughout my life, my father, Bill Clinton, has been the busiest man I know. Even now, he's constantly on the go — finding new ways for his Foundation to make a difference in the fights against climate change, HIV/AIDS, childhood obesity, and other causes that motivate his hard work. But, no matter how busy he gets, my dad always has time to be my dad — to talk about our lives, to laugh together at a funny movie and, yes, to offer advice when I need it. On this Father's Day, he has a special message for other dads who, like him, have made fatherhood the number one priority in their lives. Please take a minute to read his note and check out the beautiful e-cards his Foundation has created for this occasion. Then, if you want, please send one to the father or fathers in your life.

Save the Rainforests - President Bill Clinton’s Call to Action at Ethanol Summit
http://gas2.org/2009/06/02/save-the-rainforests-president-bill-clintons-call-to-action-at-ethanol-summit/
This week Sao Paulo, Brazil is hosting one of the world’s largest gatherings of the international biofuels industry. The Ethanol Summit 2009 was kicked off in part by President Bill Clinton who noted that Brazil is known for producing the most energy efficient and cost competitive ethanol in the world using sugarcane. The downside, though, says Clinton, is that the country’s increase in ethanol production is a precursor to the continued destruction of the rainforests.
