After five years of pleading, Harlem middle school lands former President Bill Clinton for speech

"Critical thinking will never go out of style," he told students at the top-ranked city school, where some 75% of grads are going onto the city's elite specialized high schools or to private schools on full scholarships.
"We are going up or down together – people around the block and people across the globe," he told the crowd, which included Rep. Charles Rangel (D-Manhattan). "You've got a good start here. You know how to do it. And I urge you to press on."http://www.nydailynews.com/ny_local/2009/06/22/2009-06-22_former_president_bill_clinton_tells_harlem_middle_school.html#ixzz0JCa7lURL&D

  1. I think it's great that President Clinton chose to finally speak at the school. I bet it was thrilling for those kids, and hats off to them for not giving up!

  2. I am a student at Mott Hall and when we found out he was coming to our school we were absolutely amazed. The excitement really began when we saw the camera crews and the radio stations; it was something so surreal. I am so grateful that Mr.Clinton could attend our graduation; not only was it an honor but i can know brag about it for the rest of my life. =D
